The Seattle tech scene keeps growing, and Ideoclick has been a part of its steady expansion. In fact, the company itself is in growth mode, focused on bringing new tech talent into its workplace.

Founded by former Amazon executives in 2009, Ideoclick offers an e-commerce optimization platform to help businesses that sell on Amazon achieve transformative results. Given the company’s focus on helping other businesses achieve growth and success, it’s no surprise that the company itself encourages its own employees to push industry boundaries, said Senior Director of People and Culture Jamie Kuhnhausen.

For Kuhnhausen, the word that came to mind when describing Ideoclick’s culture is “innovative.” And it seems that this description extends to the company’s hiring decisions as well. According to Kuhnhausen, the company aims to hire people who “like to move fast, be creative and deliver.”

As a company laser-focused on innovation, Ideoclick has also implemented new measures to meet the needs of its remote employees, whether they continue working from home indefinitely or eventually return to the office.

Built In Seattle checked in with Kuhnhausen to learn more about Ideoclick’s innovative company culture and its commitment to supporting its workforce.

Describe your company culture in one word.

“Innovative.” Ideoclick was born out of a desire to do something new. Our founders knew there was a better way to help brands sell products and engage with their customers on Amazon. Innovation has been a core tenet from those early days, and we’ve made great strides organically. It’s core to what we do and how our teams approach their work on behalf of our clients and our technology.

Wanting to build on that and accelerate it, we recently created a new senior leadership role,  chief innovation officer, to provide leadership and energy to fuel these efforts. Through this new function, and by elevating it, resourcing it and putting a strong leader at the helm, we have advanced our ability to pursue innovation relentlessly and constantly through ideating, creating and designing new services, technologies and solutions. That is an amazing thing to be a part of.

How long have you been with the company, and what professional growth or development have you seen in that time?

I joined Ideoclick in January of this year as the company’s first people leader, and it’s been a wild ride. Our team has delivered a lot to our entire team in that time, but the project I’m most excited about is our work location and enablement program. Ideoclick employees will have the choice to work in the office when it reopens or from any location. We tried to steer away from classifications like “office” or “remote” and instead chose to focus on how we best support our employees and help create an ideal work environment for them.

We created unique benefits designed to support the employee’s choice and further enable them to be productive. Since we’re in growth mode, and hire employees who like to move fast, be creative and deliver, we want them to choose where they can do that best!
