Supports optometrists with preliminary patient evaluations, diagnostic testing, medical interviews, referrals, documentation, patient inquiries, contact lens training, scheduling, and practice organization. Maintains HIPAA-compliant records, assists with EHR and billing documentation, manages contact lens inventory, confirms appointments, and may perform refractions or act as an optometrist scribe.

Conduct eye examinations, diagnose vision and ocular diseases, prescribe corrective lenses and medications, provide pre- and postoperative care, educate patients, and refer patients when appropriate. The optometrist will build long-term patient relationships, promote eye health, and communicate lens recommendations to opticians and sales staff.
