Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) Benefits Overview

Monitors shelter entry, exit, safety, security, cleanliness, and participant activities. Assists with intake and exit paperwork, responds to concerns and emergencies, documents incidents and maintenance needs, handles donations, performs light maintenance and janitorial work, prepares vacant units, cleans biohazards using PPE, and communicates operational issues to management.

Provides case management and housing stability support to formerly homeless residents in permanent supportive housing. Conducts assessments, develops service plans, coordinates referrals and benefits assistance, monitors progress, responds to crises, facilitates conflict de-escalation, maintains records, supports community activities, and collaborates with agencies and interdisciplinary teams. The role also includes reporting, grant support, resident transition planning, staff education, and maintaining a safe environment.

Provides case management and housing placement services for people formerly experiencing homelessness. Builds client relationships, assesses needs, coordinates referrals for mental health, substance abuse, and disability services, and collaborates with community agencies. Facilitates community-building activities, maintains detailed case records and incident reports, supports advocacy efforts, and helps maintain a safe shelter environment.
