Senior backend engineer responsible for setting technical direction, designing scalable distributed systems, building customer-facing web applications, mentoring engineers, and applying machine learning to large-scale healthcare data. The role requires Java, Scala, or Rust expertise, cloud systems experience, technical design leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and adoption of agentic engineering practices.

Manages a remote Complex Clinical Bill Review team, overseeing staffing, productivity, quality, SLAs, client communication, audits, appeals, training, and performance reviews. Analyzes workflows and business requirements, coordinates JIRA enhancements and UAT, supports process improvements, and identifies cost-saving opportunities. Ensures adherence to clinical review standards, policies, regulations, and training requirements while collaborating with Operations, Client Success, IT, and development teams.

Design, build, and operate production data pipelines using Python, Spark SQL, and Airflow. Canonicalize healthcare and customer data into trusted internal models, optimize distributed processing, enforce schemas, and implement quality checks and observability. Support customer onboarding, streaming pipelines, troubleshooting, on-call operations, and platform best practices while collaborating with product, analytics, engineering, data science, and customer teams.
