Provides skilled infusion nursing care in patients’ homes or alternate infusion suites. Develops and updates care plans, administers medications, assesses patient status, educates patients and caregivers, documents visits, coordinates with physicians and clinical teams, and supports discharge planning. The nurse may insert and troubleshoot PICC or Midline catheters, mentor other nurses, participate in on-call duties, and travel extensively for patient visits.
