Develop and maintain scalable software features across web, desktop, cloud, and IoT environments. Responsibilities include software architecture, coding, debugging, performance optimization, automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, observability, AI-assisted development, and collaboration with QA, Product Management, and DevOps. The role also contributes to Agile planning, technical documentation, and adoption of emerging engineering tools. Candidates must be based in Seattle or Los Angeles and travel quarterly to Los Angeles and site locations.

Build and operate backend services for an AI-powered hardware development platform. Design REST APIs, ingestion pipelines, background task systems, and agentic AI workflows that convert unstructured inputs into engineering artifacts. Integrate LLM APIs with streaming, error handling, and cost optimization, deploy services on GCP using Terraform, and establish reliable coding, testing, and review practices. The role requires daily hands-on development and collaboration with AI researchers, product leadership, and engineering teams.

Design and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and third-party providers. Build CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, observability, secrets management, network policies, vulnerability scanning, and compliance automation. Support AI/ML infrastructure, model serving, data pipelines, developer tooling, preview environments, and self-service provisioning. Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers on infrastructure integration while contributing code, architecture decisions, incident response, and operational best practices.
