This role allows you to work from anywhere you choose across the U.S. (excluding U.S. territories), with the flexibility to work from the Seattle HQ office as often as you’d like. Please note that no matter where you are located, all employees should be available during our core working hours from 10 am to 4 pm PT Monday through Friday.

 

Your role and impact

 

The Director, People Business Partners will collaborate with our VP People and cross-functional leaders to support our growing, nationally-distributed organization. This role is both a people leadership and IC role, leading our People Business Partner team while providing hands-on support and consultation to teams in executing and evolving our people initiatives, providing excellent support to employees and managers, coaching leaders and driving People programs and process improvement.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of exceptional People Business Partners to effectively collaborate with leaders across the company to address talent priorities including succession planning, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, performance management, recognition, organizational design and change management
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop, recommend and implement programs that provide stakeholders with analysis of client organizations' health by examining and investigating trends in performance, employee satisfaction, attrition and turnover
  • Coach managers on effective leadership strategies including tactical People processes as well as interventions involving leadership development and change management
  • Lead initiatives ranging from complex to highly complex with significant impact, including innovating on existing programs to help leaders look around corners and drive better organizational results
  • Help maintain a high-performance culture by coaching leadership teams to improve their effectiveness and engagement
  • Use data to support and advocate for a variety of business decisions that align to the strategic direction of the organization
  • Advise managers and employees on complex performance issues providing solid guidance on legal and regulatory trends in order to reduce business liabilities.
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of overall People experience
  • 8+ years human resource business partner experience supporting various functions
  • Effective project manager with proven ability to define outcomes and lead cross-functional project teams
  • Experience analyzing the "pulse" of the organization to ensure a high level of employee engagement and creative strategies to optimize target areas
  • Deep understanding of rapidly changing work environments and cultures, must be confident and able to thrive in ambiguous and high-growth environments
  • Ability to solve problems and identify root causes of various complex issues and quickly design and implement solutions across geographies
  • Proven track record of developing effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with diverse client groups
  • Demonstrated ability to drive major initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with and support a global organization
  • Ability to add value through change management; help pivot the culture and improve overall effectiveness of the business and teams
  • Resilient in building relationships with the business executives, successfully influencing highest level leaders when needed and also choosing priorities carefully
  • Approaches problem-solving from an evidence-based perspective, using sound reasoning and recognizing how emotion affects decisions and implementation
