CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Coinme is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to build upon Coinme’s existing compliance program to maintain Coinme’s high commitment to compliance, lead the company into international markets and inform the development of new products. As a member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO, you will have visibility into all levels of the company’s operations and serve as an external representation for the trusted Coinme brand. As the AML/BSA Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day compliance across the organization. As a financial technology company, you will work closely with engineering, product, and business intelligence to ensure controls are properly implemented and transaction monitoring and reporting systems are intuitive, effective, and scalable.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished, exceptionally astute compliance officer with a proven history as the lead compliance officer in a financial services business. A passion for the societal benefits of cryptocurrency and a desire to meaningfully participate in the evolving space is essential. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the BSA / AML Compliance Officer for the organization
  • Lead the global AML/BSA Program, including the design and implementation of policies, procedures, training, transaction monitoring, investigation management, SAR/CTR filing, and blockchain monitoring
  • Oversee and evolve the organization’s risk assessment; advise the board and exec team on risk-weighted strategies and help to inform the team about the regulatory implications of product decisions
  • Serve as a thought leader on regulatory and policy developments that impact organizational compliance and product experiences
  • Empower a culture of compliance throughout the organization; lead organization-wide AML training
  • Manage the compliance and licensing team, ensure proper resourcing and automated controls to support market expansion and product innovation
  • Conduct annual strategic planning for the compliance department, including budgeting, sourcing, vendor integrations, and process/program improvements
  • Manage any State or Federal regulatory exams and independent reviews, and update the Board of Directors regularly on program performance and risks
  • Obtain and maintain any city, state, or federal licenses necessary for business operations
  • Manage relations and respond to inquiries and requests from regulators, law enforcement agencies, and industry partners
  • Collaborate with the market expansion and product development teams to define compliance requirements to support international expansion and product innovation


REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of regulatory compliance experience in the cryptocurrency exchange, payments and/or international remittance industries
  • Experience building and developing compliance programs and policies in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Fluent in cryptocurrency and blockchain industry concepts
  • Highly motivated, demonstrated ability to learn fast, and comfortable navigating ambiguity


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certified BSA/AML Professional and/or CAMS Certification
