Engineering:
The engineering team is focused on building products that apply artificial intelligence to analyze, secure, and deliver critical data to deter threats and drive mission success for our defense and national security customers.
This role reports to the Engineering Manager
How you'll make a difference in this role:
We are looking to hire a Senior Red Team Operator who will provide offensive network security expertise in support of building amazing solutions for the US Department of Defense and global allies. This Senior Red Team Operator role is part of the team developing our Secure product -- providing critical cybersecurity capabilities that include analysis, detection, and reporting to protect our military network infrastructure from attacks.
This position will include hands-on penetration testing and adversary emulation, as well as, acting as a subject matter expert who assists software engineering teams in building security capabilities to provide important information to national security organizations about their current information security posture. This position will also play a key role in enabling future capabilities using machine learning and advanced analysis that will empower users to act in advance of threats and automate remediation.
This position can be based out of any of our offices in the US, or remote with travel.
What your mission is:

  • Working with elite teams to develop world-class offensive security capabilities
  • Expert understanding of TCP/IP and other commonly used network protocols
  • Expert understanding of application and network exploitation techniques
  • Familiarity with the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) used by adversaries of the United States and its allies within the cyber domain
  • Extensive penetration testing experience in challenging (large/complex/sensitive) environments
  • Demonstrating technical leadership through mentoring of others and ability to communicate complexity in an easy to understand fashion
  • Being self-directed, detail-oriented, and enjoying figuring out the most important problems to work on, owning them end-to-end, and being willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done


You may be fit for this role if your expertise aligns to:

  • Worked in a senior penetration testing, red team, or cyber warfare capacity in a sensitive sector such as national security, critical infrastructure protection, financial services, or other high stakes environments
  • Are comfortable with planning and executing routine and novel attacks through all phases of the cyber attack lifecycle using both custom and off-the-shelf tools
  • Are proficient in one or more modern programming languages
  • Understand the tradeoffs between effective security testing and safety
  • Enjoy working as part of a cross-functional team
  • Are capable of rapidly learning new technologies in unfamiliar environments
  • Can translate tactical execution into product requirements


The Nature of our Work:
We are driving fast change to an extremely regulated industry. Many of the national security programs that are supported by Rebellion's products operate in secure environments and access to those spaces and the data in them may require an active personnel security clearance. It is a requirement of this position that you are able to obtain and hold a personnel security clearance at the right level.
