The Role:

At Tango Card, the newly created role of Program Manager, Workspace Experience, is a hybrid role between facilities, employee experience, and operations. You’ll be responsible for facilitating and guiding our overall employee experience and the elements that influence it, including a variety of physical workplaces, technologies, and policies that help shape Tango Card company culture. Our Program Manager isn’t expected to be an expert in each of the areas they facilitate, but they’re accountable to helping us foster collaboration and boost productivity with the ultimate goal of improving our collective experiences.

As such, creating a productive and inclusive environment is the primary role of the Program Manager. There’s no precedent for many of the items the Program Manager will encounter. The successful candidate needs to be able to calmly help with day-to-day items as well as juggle long-term projects, such as planning an annual company meeting, assisting in large-scale office build outs, and facilitating better ways to use our intranet to inform employees.

The Program Manager also should understand the basics of facilities and real-estate management. They may not know how to install ductwork, but they should be able to recognize when poor ventilation is impacting employee productivity. And while they don’t necessarily need an IT background, they also need to be able to work with IT to choose the best solutions and troubleshoot any workspace issues around technology. Our Program Manager should be able to analyze data from space-management software, service requests, sensors, and more to identify trends.

As someone tasked with encouraging collaboration, the Program Manager will work across departments on a daily basis. They should be able to understand and manage cross-functional teams to accomplish goals. Managing internal communications and being responsive is a vital part of the job description.
