About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Director to join its dynamic Sales team. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a corporate lawyer, alternatives investments analyst or associate, investment relations professional, or enterprise sales professionals familiar with the private funds or legal tech spaces who’s eager to apply their superb relationship-building skills in a client-facing capacity.
Reporting into the Managing Director, Sales, you will be responsible for growing our customer-base in our core client industries. You will have the chance to learn from corporate lawyers who’ve successfully transitioned into the legal tech space while also helping propel the company to its next level of growth.

What you’ll do
- Prospecting: Work closely with our Business Development team to identify target clients, create an account-based outreach strategy, attend industry conferences and respond to inbound leads
- Pipeline Management: Develop a strong sales pipeline and proactively manage opportunities to achieve the company’s strategic initiatives and revenue goals
- Closing Deals: Utilizing your deep industry knowledge in conjunction with Ontra’s comprehensive sales training to pitch and close prospective customers through value-based and consultative selling
What you’ll bring
- Experience: 3+ years working in corporate law or investment relations with private equity or funds clients; preference for candidates with fund formation experience
- Persuasive: ability to sell a complex product to highly sophisticated, global customers at an enterprise level
- Communication skills: superior written and verbal communication; your interpersonal skills allow you to build trust easily with senior leaders
- Team player: positive attitude; excited by the challenge of working in a fast-growing company to build an exceptional business
- Intellectual Curiosity: you love learning and have the ability to master complex concepts quickly

In addition to cash salary, the total compensation package Ontra offers includes unit-based compensation (if applicable). Certain roles in our sales and account management departments may also be eligible to receive variable compensation or commission.
