VP of Presales Engineering

As our VP of Presales Engineering, you will lead a growing team of Solutions Architects and work closely with our Sales team to help land deals with both prospects and customers across a wide set of innovative companies across vertical markets. You will do this by having a great personal touch in dealing with both technical audiences and business decision-makers, while being smoothly aligned with our sales team to drive the effort together. You will need to have a broad base of technical acumen spanning Android OS, App, Cloud, web, and developer tooling one click below a solutions design level. A broad experience across vertical markets will help you quickly connect with our diverse customer set, putting you in position to provide deep insights into both showing and helping prospects understand how Esper can deliver on their varied use cases.
Agility at working up and down the Android ecosystem will be part of your personal toolkit. You will combine passion for Android hardware with business savvy and strong relationship skills working with Esper’s top notch development team to drive deep technical relationships with top-tier prospects.
Be prepared to accelerate time-to-deal by creating technical sales implements, conducting periodic onsite visits with customers and partners, and attending industry events. At times you will be frontline delivering demos with skill and confidence, able to still listen and adjust the pitch midstream. Work directly with the Esper leadership team on key deals, and contribute to shaping the team’s overall strategy and execution.
Requirements
- Passion to help a sales team win deals with technical acumen
- Hands on experience with Android hardware
- Comfortable working with a product development team
- Excellent customer service, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Previously managed a team
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
- Master of Business Administration or 10+ years of technical business development experience
- Exposure to AWS and Android Studio (with Java and/or Kotlin)
- Functional in Python
