Modern Age raised $27MThe wellness platform has now raised $33 million to date after its latest $27 million Series A funding round. Modern Age is working to show that aging does not mean feeling old. The company focuses on a person’s health by offering tools, telemedicine and the ability to book in-person treatments to better understand the aging process. [Built In Seattle]

Hyperproof closed a $16.5M round. The tech startup built a platform meant to help companies monitor and manage their compliance procedures as more regulations pass. Its latest funding round will help the company kick-off new initiatives and innovations. [Built In Seattle]

Avalara acquired CroudReasonThe financial details were not revealed, but Seattle tax tech giant Avalara acquired CrowdReason. Alvara has a market cap around $15 billion and in 2019 helped complete over 2 million tax returns. [Built In Seattle]

Dance Church gained $4.7MThe dance and movement company closed a funding round to help consumers obtain in-person and online dance classes. The company has no religious affiliation despite the name and offered virtual dance classes in the midst of the pandemic so people could continue to be active. [Built In Seattle]

Innovega expandsThe company that owns the product eMacula, an eyewear for extended reality applications, has signed a five-year lease for new facilities in San Diego. The new space is 4x larger than the company’s current lab and offices. [PR Newswire]
