Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world and with millions of products listed on its site, sellers need to know how to stand out from the bevy of other competitors on the platform. One company that has made a name for itself by manufacturing top-selling products on Amazon, such as portable phone chargers and speakers, is Anker Innovations. In 2020 it launched Oceanwing, a digital e-commerce and marketing company, to help other brands find the same success on Amazon.

Bellevue-based Oceanwing has made significant strides in the two years its been operational. According to the company, it has grown tenfold and recently appointed a new head of growth to continue expanding.

“[In 2021], we were able to implement our Amazon DSP ad tech service and with this grew our global employee headcount from 60 to 160,” Joe Wu, General Manager at Oceanwing, told Built In via email. “A strong omnichannel strategy is more important now than ever before as customers have become more reliant on online shopping. Companies are also realizing that the digital shopping experience requires a fresh approach and supply chain management is paramount to a business’s success as well as to customer satisfaction.”

Implementing Amazon DSP as a service for customers made up 45 percent of Oceanwing’s revenue last year. The company also saw notable client growth when it expanded across the U.S., Europe and Asia and added additional services, such as logistics, customer service and branding strategies.

Today, Oceanwing offers full e-commerce optimization services for selling products on Amazon. According to its website, services include market insights and monitoring, product page design, digital marketing, customer service management and logistics. Its services coupled with a custom cloud-based software help other companies increase visibility and product awareness.

Of the companies that Oceanwing has aided, Vital Proteins is the most notable. Previous to signing with Oceanwing, Vital Protein was having trouble with cross-channel pricing and inventory management on Amazon. With the help of Oceanwing, the supplement company has increased its search volume by 4,000 percent and achieved top seller status in under a month, according to Oceanwing.

Other companies that Oceanwing has worked with include TCL Technology, Donginbi and  Amorepacific, among others.

In just a few short years, we have proven our ability to catapult our clients to the top of their categories on Amazon’s competitive landscape by identifying key opportunities for fast growth, Wu said in a statement.

Oceanwing also appointed Steven Fish as its new head of growth to continue scaling the company. Fish formally lead a team of sellers that used Amazon to sell electronics in the early 2000s when the e-commerce site expanded beyond book sales.

“In the year ahead, we look forward to building on our full-cycle account management services to help clients grow on other leading e-commerce platforms and continue to onboard new hires,” Wu told Built In.

In addition to having an office in Bellevue, Oceanwing has teams located in Japan, China, Korea and Europe.
