Samsung Electronics has announced its acquisition of Seattle-based Xealth, a digital health integration platform. The move is part of Samsung’s connected healthcare strategy that’s focused on using wearable sensor technology to bridge personal wellness and clinical care.
According to a news release, Xealth’s platform allows healthcare providers to manage, filter and deliver digital health content and remote care programs. It currently supports over 500 U.S. hospitals and collaborates with more than 70 digital health solutions providers, which will gain access to Samsung’s ecosystem, enhancing care coordination and data-driven clinical decisions.
The acquisition advances Samsung’s broader goal of empowering individuals to take greater control of their health by connecting at-home monitoring through wearables with clinical oversight.
