Applications Engineering Intern supporting analog IC and power module products for DC-DC power conversion. Responsibilities include customer and field applications support, product simulation and bench evaluation, reference design development, debugging customer designs, collaborating on new product evaluations, writing technical documentation, and presenting project results. The role requires hands-on lab work and office or laboratory attendance three days per week.

Develop and debug analog IC products, create application reference circuits, write datasheets and technical application notes, support computing customers and field application engineers, and provide power delivery network analysis and recommendations. The role collaborates with design engineering, field applications, and marketing teams and is based in San Jose, California, or Kirkland, Washington.

Defines product strategy, analyzes markets and competitors, manages product launches, pricing, customer inquiries, promotions, advertising, and marketing collateral. Collaborates with IC design, applications engineering, sales, and communications teams while supporting customer visits and troubleshooting. Requires analog IC marketing or applications experience, power management expertise, strong communication skills, and a BSEE or equivalent. Travel may reach 30%.

Drive design-in activity and revenue within assigned accounts/territories; manage manufacturer reps and channel partners; collaborate with product marketing and engineering to win strategic design-ins; develop executive and design-engineering relationships; present to stakeholders and work as a self-motivated field/home-office sales contributor.

Performs custom analog and mixed-signal IC layout, collaborates with circuit designers, and completes DRC, LVS, and ERC verification. Supports global design teams, manages assigned tasks and schedules, and ensures layouts meet quality, performance, and reliability requirements. Requires knowledge of CMOS, BiCMOS, IC design principles, design rules, matching, shielding, isolation, CAD flows, and Unix-based data management.

The Applications Engineer will lead product definition, support customer applications, and create marketing materials for high reliability power management solutions.

Design analog and mixed-signal power management ICs using sub-micron BiCMOS/DMOS technologies. Perform circuit synthesis, simulation, and layout supervision; support ATE development with DFT methods; assist applications/evaluation and customer support. Ensure ESD, latch-up, reliability, and IC qualification requirements are met.
