Duolingo raised $30M Series F. With this new funding, they plan to expand in Seattle, where they first opened an office in 2017. They’re now valued at $1.5B. [Built In Seattle]

Highspot gained $75M. Their sales enablement software uses machine learning and AI to give suggestions to sales reps. The capital will support their continued growth and brings their total funding to over $200M. [Built In Seattle]

Spaceflight and Hypergiant announced the launch of three satellites. In early January, they’ll launch three CubeSats from the International Space Station. The company wants to deliver a new model for accessing space. [Press Release]

Avalara named new CFO. The current CFO Bill Ingram announced his March retirement, and the current executive VP of strategic initiatives, Ross Tennenbaum, will replace him. Ingram started at the tax automation company in December 2015. [GeekWire]

Bamboo Learning raised $1.4M. The voice-powered education company raised funds from investors such as the Alexa Fund and Wavemaker Partners. They plan to hire software engineers and content producers with the funding. [PRNewswire]
