  • Collaborate closely with designers to uphold design integrity while ensuring clean, semantic code implementation.
  • Performance Optimization and Technical SEO: Ensure all websites are optimized for speed, mobile responsiveness, and core web vitals.

  • Hosting and Infrastructure Management: Manage deployment, caching, DNS, and SSL configuration within hosting platforms including WP Engine, Kinsta, and Cloudflare.
  • Troubleshoot server-level issues and ensure site uptime and performance are maintained.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with junior developers, designers, and the head of Web to coordinate builds, delegate tasks, and maintain project momentum.
  • Participate in weekly internal standups and contribute to team-wide development planning.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve front-end and back-end issues across staging and production environments.
  • Debug conflicts between themes, plugins, and third-party services as needed.
  • Process and Standards Documentation: Maintain and contribute to internal documentation, workflows, and coding standards.
  • Help streamline development processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in professional website development.
  • Deep understanding of WordPress, ACF, HTML/CSS, and PHP.
  • Ability to write clean, scalable, well-documented code.
  • Confidence working in Figma, translating UI/UX into responsive web builds.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining sites on WP Engine, Kinsta, and Cloudflare.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and resources efficiently.
  • Expertise in web development tools, languages, and best practices.
  • Effective communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
