About This Opportunity

We are seeking an individual with a strong accounting background that has experience in managing external payroll providers and the full cycle of payroll from funding to reviewing payroll reports to preparing journal entries to reconciling and managing external payroll providers. This role is a detail-oriented, hands-on Payroll Accounting Manager leading global payroll accounting and equity administration. You will collaborate with external partners for global payroll and related compliance along with internal people operations team, handle monthly close activities including journal entries, and support our equity programs using Carta. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and wants to help scale finance operations in a high-growth AI company.

This is a temporary role with the potential to convert to  full-time employment.
 

What You Will Do
 

Global Payroll Accounting

  • Manage outsourced payroll providers across multiple geographies (e.g., US, APAC, EMEA)
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of payroll-related journal entries
  • Own reconciliation of payroll-related accounts (payroll accruals, bonuses, commissions, taxes)
  • Monitor compliance with local payroll tax regulations and labor laws with assistance of external payroll providers
  • Manage payment process to both employees and the payroll providers and tax authorities.
  • Support 401k administration
  • Monitor and facilitate response to employee questions
  • Provide analysis on payroll related costs
  • Support audit requests as needed

Equity Management & Accounting

  • Manage global equity administration, specifically in Carta
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of stock-based compensation (SBC) and equity transactions, including journal entries and ensuring timely reconciliation.
  • Partner with People Operations and Legal on equity-related transactions and disclosures
  • Facilitate annual 409a valuation with external service provider
What We Are Looking For
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • At least 7 years of experience with a focus in corporate accounting and related roles including international accounting and payroll accounting (including reviewing, approving, funding, preparing journal entries, preparing reconciliations)
  • At least 2 years of Big 4 public accounting experience is preferred or demonstrated solid accounting and internal control knowledge
  • Software and  SaaS industry industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, operational and international  accounting procedures both generally and as it relates to payroll accounting
  • Experience in an international multi-entity environment including managing outside service providers
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines through time management and project management skillset
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in all MS Office tools and G-Suite is a must
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
