Job Description

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

People Inc. is hiring an AI Editorial Operations Manager to lead the integration and operational execution of AI editorial initiatives for external partners. In this client-facing role, you will serve as the primary liaison between People Inc’s AI Operations team and editorial stakeholders, both internal and external, delivering AI-enabled editorial solutions tailored to client expectations.

This role reports to the VP, AI Editorial Operations and will work closely with client-side contacts, internal brand editors, tool developers, and other People Inc. stakeholders to implement scalable, high-impact editorial workflows using AI. Your work will help maintain and evolve partner editorial teams’ excellence through AI, balancing innovation with quality and strategic alignment.

II. Essential Job Functions

  • AI Workflow Optimization for a Client Context: Identify and implement opportunities to integrate AI tools into content creation, editing, and publishing workflows.
  • Client Communication & Relationship Management: Serve as the primary AI editorial point of contact for external partners. Build and maintain trust with discerning and demanding partners through consistent communication and performance reporting.
  • Tool Implementation & Client Training: Coordinate the rollout of AI-powered tools and workflows, customized for client editorial programs. Provide training and ongoing support to ensure client-side users are confident and competent in tool usage.
  • Editorial Alignment & Client Advocacy: Translate partners’ editorial goals into actionable AI strategies while advocating internally to ensure editorial, product, and engineering teams align with client-specific needs.
  • Change Management: Partner with senior editorial leadership to guide teams through AI-enabled transformations with a high degree of structure, empathy, and professionalism. Anticipate challenges in rapport-building and navigate them with care and clarity.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Measure and communicate the effectiveness of AI tools through KPIs such as workflow efficiency, content output quality, and measurable business impact.
  • Innovation & Custom Experimentation: Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend bespoke solutions that align with partners’ strategic content goals.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

  • 4+ years experience in editorial operations, digital publishing, or AI-enabled content workflows—preferably including direct client partnership experience.

  • Demonstrated success navigating high-stakes relationships and delivering results for demanding stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools for content creation, workflow automation, and editorial support.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and project management skills.

  • Experience supporting change management initiatives in fast-paced or complex environments.

  • Data fluency: Ability to assess and report on editorial tool impact using structured insights.

  • Coding experience is a plus but not required.

Hybrid 3x a week- (New York) 

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

Pay Range

Salary: Remote: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees.
