About DataCamp

DataCamp's mission is to empower everyone with the data and AI skills essential for 21st-century success. By providing practical, engaging learning experiences, DataCamp equips learners and organizations of all sizes to harness the power of data and AI. As a trusted partner to over 17 million learners and 6,000+ companies, including 80% of the Fortune 1000, DataCamp is leading the charge in addressing the critical data and AI skills shortage.

About the role

Large Language Models, agentic systems, and new developer tooling are fundamentally transforming the software development landscape—and the demand for skilled AI engineers has never been greater. As an AI Engineering Curriculum Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of building world-class technical content that helps train current and aspiring software developers and data scientists.

You will work closely with a team of expert instructors and cross-functional stakeholders across curriculum, engineering, and product to create hands-on learning experiences that teach AI engineering skills. This includes content on building AI systems (RAG, fine-tuning, etc…), prompt engineering, system design for AI applications, and leveraging modern frameworks and toolchains (like LangChain, Hugging Face, Vector DBs, and more).

You’ll play a pivotal role in developing a curriculum at the intersection of software engineering and AI, driving our mission to democratize advanced AI education.

About you

At DataCamp, we value action, ownership, transparency, and a deep focus on learners. You’re someone who:

  • Has a strong technical background and can navigate the full AI stack—from using the latest models to setting up guardrails.
  • Stays current with the latest trends, tools, and techniques shaping the AI engineering ecosystem. You have a deep passion for this space.
  • Is passionate about education and wants to shape how the next generation of AI engineers learn.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments and brings structure to ambiguity.
  • Communicates clearly and can distill complex concepts into intuitive learning experiences.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will focus your time on the following areas:

  • Own the end-to-end content development lifecycle & timelines for new courses.
  • Source and recruit top-tier instructors with deep expertise in relevant tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Collaborate with instructors to create engaging learning materials.
  • Design, review, and create content covering technical AI engineering topics like RAG, fine-tuning, building AI agents, and more.
  • Be learner zero, and act as the voice of the learner. You will review code, exercises, and course material to ensure technical accuracy and pedagogy.
  • Continuously assess course performance using learner feedback and engagement data (via Looker and SQL) to drive improvements.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact AI engineering topics for new content development.
  • Identify ways AI can streamline content production processes and improve content quality.

Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering background with hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based systems.
  • Experience in a technical education role or educational content creation.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
