Description of Services:

Consultant shall lead an engagement at Valvoline to implement an analytics solution for the ‘Global Products’ business segment within North America and International. The key objectives of the engagement are as follows:

  • Enable the following business benefits using data and analytics:

o   Global Standardization of Metrics

o   Consistency of reporting across Global Products' business segments and regions

o   All data in one place

o   Improved visibility of key metrics and trends providing:

o   Health of business at a glance

o   Identification of insights (quickly) that will help drive toward business goals

o   Easy access to data

o   Visual vs tabular format of key metrics – quickly identify what questions need to be answered or require further analysis 

  • Implement best practices and processes for enabling transition of Global Products DIY business from reporting to analytics and enable the following analytics capabilities:

o   Data and analytics for hindsight, insight and foresight.

o   Insights that drive action using visual artifacts – Charts, Heatmaps, Trending, Exceptions and Alerts and drilldowns.

o   Enable decision makers to access data quickly and in a format that is easy to understand.

  • All the core and foundational capabilities should be scalable to other businesses.

 

The scope of the analytics implementation work is as follows:

  • Extend the Business Data Warehouse (SAP Datawarehouse Cloud) that is agile, flexible and with minimal IT governance.
  • Implement a foundational data framework in SAP DWC to acquire data (replicate or virtual) from various sources SNAP and BPC
  • Assist with implementing the optimal analytics organizational structure based on the ‘hub and spoke’ model to support analytics initiatives.
  • Design and Implement a System of Insights for Global Products that includes 4 analytics use cases:

o   Global Products Dashboard: Executive Visualization of Global Products business performance vs. Plan and Latest Estimate

o   Margin Analytics: Detailed Analysis of contributions to Margin by Business Unit and Product Line

o   Pricing / Cost Analytics: Trending Analysis of Pricing to identify known Cost Increases vs. Additional Price Increases that are Required

o   Product Line Analytics: Trending Analysis of Gross Profit by Business Unit and Product Line

o   Coach Valvoline resources in analytics methodology, visualization best practices and analytics design processes to enable internal capabilities to deliver agile analytics initiatives.
