About the Role

LlamaIndex is looking for an Applied AI Solutions Architect to sit at the intersection of enterprise sales and deep technical execution. This role is embedded directly in our revenue motion — you're the person who turns a skeptical engineering team into a champion and a promising evaluation into a signed deal.

You'll own the technical relationship from first discovery through proof of concept, working alongside Account Executives on live opportunities with the world's most ambitious AI teams. You're not just demoing a product — you're diagnosing real infrastructure problems, designing solutions, and earning trust with the people who have to live with the architecture long after the contract is signed.

What You'll Do

  • Lead technical evaluations, proofs of concept, and solution design sessions for enterprise prospects across a range of industries and use cases

  • Partner closely with AEs to de-risk deals, surface technical blockers early, and build credible paths to "yes"

  • Communicate complex AI and data infrastructure concepts clearly to both engineers and C-level stakeholders in the same conversation

  • Design and prototype solutions using LlamaIndex's platform that directly address customer requirements around accuracy, latency, cost, and scale

  • Represent the voice of the customer internally — feeding insights to Product and Engineering that sharpen the roadmap

What We're Looking For

  • Strong engineering foundation with experience in AI/ML systems, data pipelines, or enterprise software architecture

  • Demonstrated ability to work in customer-facing technical roles — pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting

  • Comfort operating under ambiguity: you can scope a problem, make reasonable assumptions, and move forward without waiting for perfect information

  • GTM instincts — you understand what it takes to build technical consensus across a buying committee

  • Clear, confident communicator who can translate system design trade-offs into business risk language for executives

  • Prior experience with LlamaIndex or LlamaCloud is not required — we care about how you think and how you ramp

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

LlamaIndex does not accept unsolicited agency resumes. Please do not forward resumes to our jobs alias, employees, or any other organization location. LlamaIndex is not responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
