About the Role:    

The Assistant Contract Manager provides a full range of critical support to DCS for both Customer and Vendor related contracts. Oversees all aspects of the defined DCS Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) process. Contracts cover a range of documents associated with the installation and maintenance of material handling equipment, automated warehouse systems, and related technologies. This individual is expected to directly engage in contract negotiations and is responsible for overseeing the administrative aspects of contract management including liaising with the Program Management Office on related systems and providing detailed reporting on the status of contracts in process. Sound like you? In this role, you will:   

  • Contract Negotiation: Working with internal subject matter experts and legal counsel, facilitate the negotiation of terms and conditions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable contractual agreements that align with company objectives and mitigate risks. 
  • Contract Drafting and Review: Prepare, review, and analyze contract documents, including proposals, agreements, amendments, and addendums to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 
  • Contract Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to execution to close-out, ensuring that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations and that contracts are properly documented and maintained. 
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with contractual agreements, including potential liabilities, disputes, and non-compliance issues. 
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to foster collaboration, resolve issues, and ensure the successful execution of contracts. 
  • Compliance (External): Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the contract management process. 
  • Compliance (Internal): Ensures Contract Management is performed in accordance with company policy and has the authority to challenge non-compliant requests. 
  • Communication: Effectively communicate contract terms, conditions, and requirements to internal & external stakeholders, including legal counsel, Sales, Supply Chain, Project Managers, Engineers, and Executive Leadership. 

We’re Excited About You Because:   

  • Proven experience (5+ years) working with contracts in a similar role, preferably in the material handling industry, construction, or related field. 
  • Strong understanding of contract law, legal terminology, and contract management best practices. 
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Contract Management, or Business Law. 
  • Solid verbal and written skills 
  • Sound interpersonal and customer service skills 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Working knowledge of materials and services used in the company 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and capable of adjusting to use of job-related software
