About the Role

The Assistant Corporate Controller will support MediaRadar’s accounting function, playing a critical role in the company’s continued growth and value creation. Reporting to the VP Corporate Controller, this position assists in overseeing corporate accounting and financial operations. The Assistant Corporate Controller will help drive operational strategies, support the maintenance of financial controls, ensure compliance with GAAP, and partner closely with the VP Controller and senior leadership to execute on strategic initiatives.

As a hands-on contributor, the Assistant Corporate Controller will play an important role in supporting the alignment of MediaRadar’s business, financial, and human capital strategies with its future goals.

Key Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do:

  • Financial Operations Support
    • Assist in overseeing financial accounting, analysis, treasury, audit, and tax functions while ensuring compliance with GAAP.
    • Support accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, billing, and accounts receivable/payable.
    • Partner closely with Revenue Operations (RevOps), Sales, and Finance to ensure order-to-cash processes are accurate and data is aligned across NetSuite, Salesforce, and related systems.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Assist in preparing and publishing accurate, timely monthly financial statements.
    • Analyze and report key financial and operational results, identifying underlying trends and drivers in collaboration with the FP&A team.
    • Review financial statements, compare results to projections and budgets, and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Process Improvement & Controls
    • Support the development and maintenance of robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure policy compliance.
    • Evaluate existing processes, make recommendations for improved efficiency, and assist in implementing process improvements across functional areas.
      • Specifically, support implementation of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general accounting / accrual processes
      • Support implementation of new accounting policies, technical memorandums and procedures
      • Work cross functionally to develop KPIs and other leading indicators
    • Support ERP system implementation and enhancements.
    • Assist with process documentation, system improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives to support scalability as the business grows.
    • Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes, particularly through process reconfiguration and the use of AI, and encourage adoption of these improvements across the team.
  • Strategic Initiatives
    • Support the VP Corporate Controller, senior leadership, and private equity partners in executing growth and strategic goals.
    • Assist with financial integration of acquisitions, including post-closing performance measurement and carve-out financials.
    • Lead accounting workstreams related to M&A integrations, including conversion and alignment of AR and AP processes, contract assets and liabilities, and related system and process integrations.
    • Work cross-functionally to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and other leading metrics.
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Support, mentor, and develop accounting team members, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

What You’ve Done:

  • Education & Certification
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Experience
    • 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead accounting role.
    • Experience in high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS businesses preferred.
    • Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency close processes across different countries.
    • Experience supporting audits, implementing accounting policies, and improving operational processes.
    • Exposure to M&A, including integration and post-closing performance measurement. Prior experience with financial carve-outs is a plus.
    • Hands-on experience supporting M&A transactions and integrations, including AR and AP conversions and integration of contract assets and liabilities.
    • NetSuite experience strongly preferred; experience with Salesforce, Ramp, and Avalara also preferred.
    • Solid understanding of order-to-cash workflows, including order entry, contract review, invoicing, and fulfillment.
    • Familiarity with SaaS revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) is helpful, though not required.
    • CPA or equivalent qualification, and/or public accounting experience, is a plus.
    • Experience working with outsourced and off-shore operations a plus
