The Analytics Team is responsible for building and maintaining analytics tools and workflows to support the PrizePicks business across all departments - at the core of these operations is data and the insights driven from that data. You will work closely with other data scientists, reporting analysts, and cross-departmental directors to test business flows, make business recommendations, and provide novel business insights to leadership focused on driving revenue growth, optimizing marketing efficiency, and optimizing retention efforts.

What you’ll do:
  • Build and design machine learning models specific to NFL football
  • Clean datasets and productionize SQL queries to ensure stable model training pipelines.
  • Contribute to PrizePicks’ simulation infrastructure to create projections for NFL football games.
What you have:
  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning, data analysis, and statistical modeling, specifically with respect to professional sports, particularly NFL.
  • Proficiency in statistics and programming in Python.
  • Practical experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with data visualization and report building is a plus.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in a related data science role, ideally within the professional sports industry.
  • Familiarity with advanced sports statistics and analytics platforms used in professional football.
  • Experience working with real-time sports data feeds and APIs.
  • Knowledge of sports betting concepts and daily fantasy sports.

  • Demonstrable history building machine learning models from scratch.
  • Exposure to lower-level programming languages (Java, Rust, C++, etc.)
  • Submissions to public sports analytics events like the Big Data Bowl.
  • Prior work experience within a professional football organization.
  • Computer science/software engineering experience/coursework.
Where you’ll live:
  • While we prefer candidates based in Atlanta, we are open to qualified applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and are willing to consider remote candidates. 
Working at PrizePicks:

The typical salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000. At PrizePicks, we consider your role, level, and where you'll be working when determining our salary ranges. The compensation info you see on our job postings gives you an idea of the starting pay range for the position. Your actual pay within that range will depend on your specific work location, as well as your skills, experience, and education. Your recruiter will be happy to chat more about the specific pay range for your location and how we arrived at it during the hiring process.
