Associate Director, Lifecycle Marketing

The Associate Director, Lifecycle Marketing, reporting into the Director of CRM, will be responsible for leading strategies that drive engagement, retention, and customer lifetime value across Scentbird’s portfolio of brands. This role will own the active user lifecycle, including onboarding, retention, and churn reduction strategies, as well as upsell and cross-sell initiatives designed to maximize customer value. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic vision, hands-on execution, and deep lifecycle marketing expertise in a subscription or e-commerce business.


What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Develop and lead lifecycle marketing strategies focused on onboarding, retention, and maximizing LTV.
  • Create, test, and optimize upsell and cross-sell programs across multiple brands.
  • Partner with the Director of CRM to build long-term retention strategies and identify growth opportunities within the active customer base.
  • Collaborate with analytics, product, and creative teams to uncover insights, identify customer pain points, and design data-driven programs.
  • Lead the creation and optimization of automated workflows across channels (email, SMS, push, and in-app).
  • Own lifecycle reporting, tracking key retention metrics, churn drivers, and program ROI, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional partners on lifecycle and retention initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure best-in-class execution.

What You’ll Need to Have:

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in CRM or lifecycle marketing, ideally in a B2C subscription or e-commerce business.
  • Proven track record in retention, churn reduction, and LTV growth.
  • Strong experience with upsell, cross-sell, and onboarding programs.
  • Experience with an enterprise-level ESP/CRM platform (Iterable, Klaviyo, Sailthru, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of automated workflows, segmentation, and dynamic content personalization.
  • Solid knowledge of lifecycle and retention metrics, with experience translating data into strategy.
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge a plus.
  • Strong project management skills (experience with JIRA a plus).
