The Associate Director of User Intelligence (GEO/SEO) is an experienced analytics practitioner who leads data workstreams across mid-to-large engagements and builds meaningful client relationships around measurement and insight, with a special focus on AEO/GEO visibility and strategy. This person can own an analytics engagement end-to-end, from instrumentation and data architecture through analysis and recommendation, and communicates findings to executive audiences with confidence. Beyond delivering analysis, Associate Directors help clients understand how AI-assisted analytics can change the pace at which they learn from data, accelerating the cycle from measurement to decision to action. They bring command-level fluency with AI and automation tools in analytics workflows.

Additionally, this role requires deep expertise with the full suite of SEO and GEO tools, and experience advising on everything from onsite technical optimizations to content planning/strategy to offplatform authority signals. This person must be comfortable partnering with product & content strategists, editors, social and PR teams, developers, and more stakeholders to fully support our clients’ varied GEO visibility goals and opportunities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead analytics engagements from measurement framework design through data collection, analysis, and strategic recommendation
  • Lead SEO/GEO initiatives across a variety of clients and projects — conducting site and social platform audits, newsletter performance audits, performing topic and keyword research, analyzing competitor performance, and advising on on-page and off-site strategies to support SEO/GEO growth opportunities
  • Advise on technical SEO/GEO optimization techniques, including site architecture, structured data, interlinking, Core Web Vitals exploration, and more. Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with developers to ensure best practices are followed
  • Define and implement KPI frameworks, dashboard architectures, and reporting structures that give clients actionable visibility into product performance
  • Conduct and oversee quantitative analysis — behavioral data, funnel analysis, segmentation, A/B testing — and translate findings into clear strategic inputs
  • Advise clients on how AI-assisted analytics tools and workflows can compress the time from data to insight — enabling faster iteration and more autonomous business-unit decision-making
  • Present findings and recommendations to client stakeholders with clarity, handling questions on methodology and data interpretation confidently
  • Manage and develop Senior Strategists and Strategists, building data literacy, rigor, and communication skills
  • Contribute to new business efforts, demonstrating the agency’s analytics capabilities and helping scope data-driven engagements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 6+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, SEO/GEO, or a related field, with a track record of leading analytics and SEO/GEO strategy end-to-end
  • Deep working knowledge of quantitative analysis methods — behavioral analysis, funnel analysis, segmentation, A/B testing, GEO/SEO best practices,  — and strong ability to translate findings into strategic recommendations that span product, site content, and social platforms
  • Proficiency with analytics platforms and BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Google Analytics, Amplitude, BigQuery) and working knowledge of data instrumentation and tagging
  • Proficiency with SEO/GEO platforms (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Conductor, SimilarWeb, Limy, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog)
  • Strong client-facing communication: comfortable presenting complex findings to senior stakeholders and fielding questions on methodology and interpretation with confidence
  • Command-level fluency with AI and automation tools in analytics workflows — with informed judgment about where they scale analytical work without sacrificing interpretive quality
  • Nimble learning style, with the ability to shift and adjust recommendations as GEO practices evolve
  • Emerging ability to advise clients on AI-assisted analytics practices and how they can accelerate the data-to-decision cycle within their organizations
  • Experience managing and developing analysts; track record of contributing to business development in an analytics context

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
