JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Associate Index Analyst is to assist with the daily maintenance of Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) real-time indexes. Duties will include the processing of corporate actions and related information under the guidance of more senior personnel. Additional responsibilities may include testing new data feeds, software, and/or procedures. The group has an ongoing stream of corporate action data that must be verified to accurately calculate the total returns for our indexes. The Associate Index Analyst would be able to help reconcile some of the more frequent corporate actions (i.e., cash dividends, special dividends, stock splits, reverse stock splits, etc.), enabling the Index Analysts more time to focus on complex corporate actions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process and apply corporate actions on the appropriate effective date.
  • Verify and edit exchange listings and de-listings, stock identifiers and dividends.
  • Support the Index Analysts and Supervisors by participating in projects as required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with confidential information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or a business relevant degree
  • 1 year of experience working for a financial information or data base product provider
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, communication and research skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and deliver results quickly within strict deadlines while working in a dynamic, cross-functional, team-oriented environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understanding/knowledge of corporate actions preferred (spin-offs, mergers, acquisitions, rights issues, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of U.S. and global financial markets incorporating indexes.
  • Working knowledge of financial data and real-time news sources.
  • Familiarity with gathering information from SEC filings.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:
  • Minimal travel required; however, candidates should be open to occasional travel as needed to support business objectives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The setting for this role will include office and healthcare settings. Exposure to controlled temperature environments, both hot and cold, is to be expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, demonstrate hand and finger dexterity in the course of their work, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The expected physical workload is classified as:
Sedentary Work : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Salary Range: $57,908.00 - $75,281.00
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
