Macmillan is seeking an Associate Manager in the Special Markets department to manage and grow new business for the Premium/Corporate sales channel. Reporting to the Associate Director of Sales, the Associate Manager will focus on reaching and exceeding annual sales goals for Macmillan wholly-owned and client publisher trade titles. The salesperson will work closely with all accounts in the Premium/Corporate territory and be responsible for creating regular and seasonal sales presentations. The Associate Sales Manager will prospect and open new accounts as well as target new business opportunities within the existing account base. What you'll do:

  • Maximize Macmillan sales in the Premium and Corporate sales channel
  • Strategic focus on annual sales goals working closely with the Associate Director to set achievable growth targets 
  • Responsible for selling all Macmillan wholly owned and Distribution Client titles on a monthly/seasonal basis to Premium/Corporate account base
  • Review sales regularly with supervisor prioritizing annual targets 
  • Responsible for monthly Premium / Corporate sales report and channel updates
  • Create targeted pitches and seasonal presentations meeting regularly with accounts to ensure all appropriate trade adult and children’s titles are presented
  • Build strong and initiate new relationships with buyers, regularly focusing on trends and potential new areas of business in the Premium/Corporate channel  
  • Communicate and participate in regular launch, sales, and marketing meetings 
  • Provide regular account feedback for publishers, marketing/sales and the Supply Chain department 
  • Handle order processing and trafficking working closely with our Customer Service team
  • Provides weekly title estimates for future trade and distribution titles

  • Focused on achieving sales goals
  • Proficient in MS Work, MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Google Suite
  • 1-3 years Special Market sales experience, Premium / Corporate preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree 

This role will have an annual salary of $63,000 - $69,000.

This position is classified as remote but is tied to our New York, NY office located at 120 Broadway. Employment is subject to New York State tax withholding under applicable regulations.
