Role
We are looking for an Associate Technical Writer to join the Technical Publications department. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA three days a week, or remote within the USA, reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Publications. You will help deliver a growing portfolio of capabilities in threat prevention and business enablement by turning complex technical information into clear, effective documentation. What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Translate technical information into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Deliver post-sales content for online documentation (i.e., help articles, release notes, etc.) as well as provide UI text (i.e., UI tooltips, labels, error messages, etc.) for use by our UX and Engineering teams
- Integrate graphics and illustrations to improve the quality and usability of the documentation
- Work cross-functionally with SMEs in the Engineering, Field Support, Sales, Training, and Product Marketing groups
- Assist in defining standards, style, and terminology

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing, supported by U.S citizenship
- Bachelors degree in technical writing,communications, or a related field(i.e,technical writing/communications certifications are also acceptable)
- Hands-on experience with JIRA and/or Confluence
- Excellent oral, written, analytic, and organizational skills
- Able to think and write in context with the target audience
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Proven experience authoring online help and knowledge base articles for web-based or mobile products
- Comfortable working in Agile environments with hands-on proficiency in HTML5/CSS
- Prior experience in network or cloud security is highly desirable

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
