Role Description

Dropbox Corporate IT is looking for an Atlassian Cloud Administrator to own and evolve our Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, and Loom Enterprise.

After migrating to Jira Cloud, we are entering the next stage of platform maturity. This role is about more than day to day administration. You will help build a scalable, secure, and intuitive collaboration platform that enables teams across Dropbox to plan, build, document, and communicate effectively.

You will operate as a platform owner, balancing user experience, governance, automation, security, and long term maintainability. You will partner closely with Engineering, Technical Program Management, Security, and cross functional stakeholders to drive standardization and reduce complexity while supporting a global, virtual first workforce.

This is a high impact opportunity to shape how work happens at Dropbox.

Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, and Loom Enterprise as secure, scalable collaboration platforms.
  • Define and roll out governance standards for workflows, permissions, templates, and information architecture that scale across teams.
  • Reduce configuration sprawl and platform technical debt to improve maintainability, reporting consistency, and user experience.
  • Design and implement automation and integrations using Jira Automation, APIs, and scripting to replace manual processes with durable solutions.
  • Partner with Engineering and TPM teams to align workflows with SDLC best practices and enable consistent execution across orgs.
  • Improve visibility and confidence in reporting by standardizing configuration patterns and driving adoption of best practices.
  • Enable async first collaboration by strengthening Loom adoption and defining clear patterns for using video updates effectively.
  • Maintain platform reliability, security, and operational excellence, including incident response and durable follow through on root causes.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and scalable operational practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience administering Atlassian Cloud, including Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud.
  • Deep expertise in Jira Cloud configuration, including workflows, schemes, permissions, and automation.
  • Strong experience with Confluence space governance, content structure, and information architecture.
  • Hands on experience building automations and integrations using REST APIs and scripting (Groovy, Python, or similar).
  • Experience supporting or administering large scale environments (2,000+ users preferred).
  • Strong understanding of SaaS governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across functions, with clear written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable operating independently in a distributed, Virtual First environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing Loom Enterprise or similar enterprise video collaboration platforms.
  • Atlassian certifications (for example ACP 100, ACP 120).
  • Experience leading org wide standardization initiatives and driving adoption through change management.
  • Demonstrated track record reducing configuration sprawl and platform technical debt.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and aligning tooling to SDLC workflows.
  • Experience leveraging AI capabilities within SaaS platforms to improve productivity or support.
  • ITIL or service management framework experience.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
