The Opportunity 

Are you passionate about building developer tools that drive engineering excellence and elevate product quality at scale? Do you thrive on solving complex technical challenges? Do you enjoy collaborating across teams to design solutions that make measurable impacts? We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to help power quality and automation services for Photoshop.    

In this role, you will own a critical part of Adobe’s internal engineering platform, collaborate with product teams across multiple domains, and shape the future of how we build, test, and deliver world-class software. 

What you’ll do 

  • Join a creative, dynamic, impact-focused team driving exceptional developer experiences and world-class quality for Photoshop products. 

  • Collaborate across multifunctional engineering teams to deliver scalable, workflow-based automation and quality solutions. 

  • Build innovative tooling to empower rapid build and release of Photoshop products. 

  • Develop, debug, and manage comprehensive automated testing at scale. 

  • Champion product quality, continuous improvement, and delightful developer experiences. 

What you’ll need to succeed 

  • Ability to solve challenging problems in complex CI/CD build and test environments. 

  • Hands-on experience developing full-stack web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and contemporary build processes like npm and webpack. 

  • Extensive background applying modern web frameworks like React, React Spectrum, D3.js, Vue.js to build fresh, interactive web experiences. 

  • Experience building and maintaining robust backend services and APIs, making use of efficient SQL and NoSQL database queries. 

  • Strong understanding of testing and automation best practices for desktop, web, and mobile products. 

  • A relentless focus on elevating product quality. 

  • Proficiency with design, implementation, and maintenance of both functional and non-functional automated testing. 

  • Curiosity, enthusiasm for learning, and collaborative energy. 

  • Experience working with large codebases in version control (Git). 

  • Commitment to developing clean, well-documented code that is functional, optimized, and scalable. 

  • Solid grasp of modern software development practices with AI and eagerness to embrace rapidly changing AI technologies (ML, NLP, LLMs, Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot.)  

  • Proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. 

  • Capability to navigate rapid iterations and evolving priorities in fast-paced Agile software development environments. 

  • Committed to building positive relationships and driving collective results with open communication and shared problem-solving. 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience 

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience 

Nice to have 

  • Ability to take ownership of complex projects from ideation to delivery to build end-to-end internal engineering solutions. 

  • Experience crafting delightful user experiences following human-centered design principles and accessibility guidelines (WCAG). 

  • Exposure with container management services like Docker, K8s. 

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins and GitHub Actions. 

  • Proven track record of driving impact across diverse teams 

 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $114,100 -- $214,950 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
