Role Summary/Purpose: 

 

Reporting to the Luxury Marketing Leader, the AVP Luxury Marketing will be responsible for leading the client marketing relationship management of assigned clients.  The selected marketer will be responsible for partnering with clients and a broad cross-functional team to develop the growth strategy and drive volume growth, client penetration, as well as measuring the effectiveness of marketing spend & profitability. 

 

The position will be responsible for developing and managing all B2C campaigns across all channels including in-store, website, email, statement marketing, direct mail and advertising - all within regulatory compliance guidelines. Reaching consumers with a strong digital channel focus will be critical to driving growth outside of physical store sales. 

 

The position contributes to overall market/brand strategy relative to our Luxury Markets portfolio and the continued acquisition and retention of small (fragmented) retailers into our Synchrony Financial branded programs.   
 
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assess select client needs, business goals, and opportunities. Jointly create and execute a growth plan to align with client overall business strategies. 

  • Utilize SYF consumer and competitive data analysis to develop strong, simple, and differentiated consumer value propositions. Including promotional financing, rewards programs, special discounts and segmentation. 

  • Partner with clients to consult on digital best practices to integrate financing into their website strategies and all other digital marketing channels. 

  • Help to drive industry digital strategy and partner with digital teams to execute communication strategies (SEO, SEM, email, social media). 

  • Work with the clients to develop compelling in-store signage to drive acquisition and credit penetration. 

  • Jointly with Sales drive and communicate key metrics pertaining to the performance of the client portfolios (sales, new accounts, repeat purchase percentage, consumer email enrollment, digital engagement, penetration, and return). 

  • Create, build, and maintain a collaborative partnership with sales, risk, finance, digital, legal, compliance and operations teams to drive overall results. 

  • Manage and oversee a marketing budget and measure effectiveness. 

  • Utilize SYF tools to optimize specific marketing investments to efficiently grow the business, consistent with the SYF brand.     

  • Manage projects through the Workfront / Cosmos (marketing project management) tool. 

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of marketing experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years of marketing experience  

  • Understanding of marketing metrics, including marketing ROI and profit/loss analysis 

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

  • Ability to drive business results--executes against plan and delivers 

  • Ability to influence across all levels of organization 

  • Credit card or other financial services marketing experience 

  • Collaborative team player with ability to influence across all levels of organization 

  • MBA preferred 

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events. 


*Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
