The attorney manages bankruptcy cases, drafts pleadings, attends hearings, responds to inquiries, and communicates with clients and courts.
A full service creditor's rights law firm with a national bankruptcy practice is seeking an attorney with experience representing secured creditors in consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. Ideal candidates are located in Pittsburgh, PA, or within commutable distance. A qualified candidate must have a working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure. However, we are open to training the right team-oriented candidate with less experience. License to practice law in Pennsylvania.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Primarily manages bankruptcy routine matters
- Draft and review all pleadings and claims filed in the particular matter
- Attends scheduled hearings
- Responds to general firm wide bankruptcy inquiries
- Review filings on behalf of the clients
- Monitoring of all electronic filings (ECFs)
- Resolving routine bankruptcy matters such as Motions for Relief, Objections to Confirmation, Proofs of claim, etc.
- Regular communication with the client, opposing counsel and the Court
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of bankruptcy rules/laws and general Creditor Rights laws
- Computer Literacy Professionalism
- Keyboard Skills Attention to detail
- Time Management Communication Skills
Required Education and Training:
- Law degree – JD
- Barred in PA
- Located in Pittsburgh, PA (or within commutable distance)
- Admitted to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in PA
