About the role:
The Financial Planning and Analysis role will serve a vital function to our growing business by contributing impactful analysis, improved visibility and forecasting over key business attributes, and helping to bring best practices to our financial processes. Adding an experienced and versatile team player to our financial group will also allow us to strengthen process controls, educate and support other functions on key business drivers, and improve our timing, accuracy, and communication of performance to key stakeholders. Must be results-oriented, comfortable working in teams or on her/his own, and passionate about their role in driving the success of our Company.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Analyzing current and past financial data and performance
- Preparing reports and projections based on this analysis
- Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
- Coordinating with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts
- Determines cost of operations by collecting and analyzing operational data.
- Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; and recommending actions.
- Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; and recommending actions to management.
Reporting Responsibilities:
- Translate stakeholders’ requirements into reporting deliverables
- Assist finance team with performance dashboard and report generation
- Create and deliver detailed reports (metrics, financial, performance) – daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly
- Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Education/Experience and Knowledge
- 3+ years of data analysis experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Finance, Accounting, and/or Computer Information Sciences
- Extensive experience and cumulative working knowledge of computers, especially in data extraction/reporting software
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
- Familiarity with accounting and finance practices and principles
- Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to frequently communicate orally, write, read, comprehend, reason, and perform basic mathematic calculations and analyze
- An eye for detail and excellent organizational skills
- Creative, responsive, and adaptive in a dynamic environment
- Must have the aptitude and desire to learn new competencies and skills
