ClearScale  (headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA) -  AWS Premier Consulting Partner  has been offering a full range of professional cloud computing services for  over 10 years , including architecture design, DevOps automation, refactoring and cloud-native applications development, integration, migration, solving all sorts of security issues (from just a security check to preventing cyber-attacks) and 24/7 technical support using the best advanced technology.




The list of our customers is diverse: from governments ( ClearScale  is an official cloud partner of the State of California) and educational institutions (University of California, San Francisco) to well-known global brands (IBM, Samsung, Salvation Army, GoPro, HP, Conde Nast, Carl Zeiss, etc.) The number of satisfied customers has been well over 850, some of which can be found on the company's website in the Case Studies  section.

Our projects

  • Data Analytics is building Data Lakes, and Lake Houses with a variety of technologies, such as EMR, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Aurora, Neptune, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, etc.
  • ML/AI projects are based on scrupulous data analysis, hypothesis formulation, and rigid model quality checks using the latest packaged SageMaker or custom ML models and frameworks.
  • We empower IoT companies with technologies like IoT Core, IoT SiteWise, LoRaWAN, and extensive data analytics.


Responsibilities:
  • Assisting Team Lead in technological supervision of projects: code reviews, solving technological challenges, clarifying business requirements
  • Assisting Team Lead, Pre-Sales Architect in LOE estimation and scope clarification for the prospective customers (participate in writing SOWs, as a minor contributor, Consulted)
  • Framing the problem to maximize business impact
  • Setting expectations for success
  • Specifying and prioritizing projects from vague requirements
  • Planning and managing the technological part of projects
  • Striking a balance between trade-offs
  • Clarifying business context of opportunities
  • Operating in customers’ best interest
  • Delivering knowledge confidently
  • Taking responsibility for enterprise value
  • Exhibiting positivity and tenacity to work through failures
  • Being curious and collaborative in incident response


Required skills and experience

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in technological supervision of projects: code reviews, solving technological challenges, clarifying business requirements

  • Specifying and prioritizing projects from vague requirements
  • Planning and managing the technological part of projects

Required skills and experience:

ClearScale expects a successful candidate to have most of the following qualifications and skills (not necessary all have to be presented):

  • 1+ years of technological supervision experience (mentoring/supervising 1-2 Engineers) in the delivery
  • 3+ years experience in writing analytical SQL queries
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with some of the AWS Data Analytics services (EMR, Glue, Athena, Redshift etc.)
  • 3+ years of Java/Scala or Python data-related development
  • 1+ years of Hadoop or Spark
  • English B2 or better (spoken and written)

Additionally, it would make us smile even more if you have:

  • Experience in Pre-Sales work from the angle of technological estimates, scope clarifications
  • Experience in orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Step Functions)
  • Experience in streaming analytics solutions (Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming)
  • Experience in CDC, Delta Lakes
  • IaaC experience, such as AWS CDK, Terraform, Cloudformation
