The Opportunity:
PureSpectrum is seeking a detail-oriented Billing & Revenue Manager to lead our billing and revenue accounting function. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the billing team and own the full revenue cycle — from new client onboarding and invoicing through revenue recognition, reconciliations, and reporting.

This is a client-facing role. You will regularly communicate with customers and collaborate with internal employees across Sales, Legal, People & Culture, and IT, serving as a key point of contact for billing questions and escalations. The ideal candidate combines hands-on revenue accounting expertise with proven people-management experience and thrives in a role that bridges Accounting with cross-functional partners.

Success in this role requires strong ownership, clear communication, and the ability to drive issues through to resolution in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Location: Westlake Village, CA. This position is hybrid. Candidates must be able to commute to the Westlake Village headquarters 4 days a week.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the billing team, including workload planning, performance management, and coaching. Establish clear processes, priorities, and quality standards.
  • Own revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606). Perform and review revenue-related reconciliations, and support month-end and quarter-end close.
  • Oversee invoicing across multiple channels, ensuring invoices are issued accurately, on schedule, and in alignment with relevant sales tax obligations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for billing escalations and queries from customers and internal teams, driving issues through to resolution.
  • Manage new client setup and processing within the billing system, and coordinate onboarding and paperwork across Legal, People & Culture (P&C), IT, and Sales to ensure a smooth, client-friendly, compliant intake process.
  • Administer sales rebate calculations and payments, and prepare and deliver sales reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a power user of NetSuite for billing, revenue, and reporting workflows, and identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of revenue accounting experience.
  • 2–5 years of people-management experience.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606) and billing processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with client-facing experience and the ability to partner effectively across departments (Sales, Legal, P&C, IT) and communicate clearly and professionally with both customers and internal employees.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
