- Partner with product and engineering teams to drive security initiatives and continuously improve our risk posture
- Manage stakeholder expectations and cybersecurity risk for assigned Business Units
- Plan, prioritize, optimize, and execute the security backlog through a unified work stream with product and engineering
- Leverage technical depth and business risk understanding to drive measurable security outcomes
- Translate complex security concepts into clear, business-friendly language for diverse audiences
- Influence decision-making across teams and at all levels without direct authority
- Thrive in ambiguity and drive results with a "get it done" mindset balanced with diplomacy
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10-15 years of experience in information security, including 5-10 years in a leadership role focused on technical security across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and third-party integrations
- Deep understanding of security principles across technology layers: cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure security (network, endpoint, IAM), application security (SAST, DAST, secure coding), and third-party risk management
- Hands-on familiarity with security tools such as SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar), vulnerability scanners (Qualys, Nessus), or IAM solutions (Okta, SailPoint)
- Proven ability to drive strategic and technical cybersecurity conversations tailored to different personas (engineering executives, architects, engineering managers, etc.)
- Track record of working independently, taking ownership of security initiatives, and delivering results with minimal supervision
- Strong executive presence with the ability to articulate technical security concepts in business and risk terms
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize initiatives using risk data from multiple sources while maintaining alignment with organizational objectives
- Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks (SOX, NIST CSF, ISO 27001/2, CIS Controls)
- Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while staying ahead of emerging threats and adapting to evolving business needs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of securing AI solutions
- Strong familiarity with SDLC concepts and shift-left security approaches
- Prior experience as a Business Information Security Officer (BISO) or equivalent
- Ability to build strong working relationships with customer teams and internal security teams, including international colleagues
- Track record of challenging the status quo and driving continuous improvement
- Consulting or auditing experience in the high-tech industry
- Professional certifications such as CISM, CCSP, or CISSP
