About Playground

Playground is working to make excellent child care accessible to all. We’ve built best-in-class software to manage every aspect of running a child care business. We believe providers should focus on delivering incredible child care—the work only people can do—while software handles the rest. Our platform eliminates the administrative burden of running a center so educators can focus on what matters most.

Playground is at an inflection point and poised for rapid growth. We’ve recently raised millions of dollars, secured multiple statewide contracts, and now support thousands of schools across the country. Our founders were named Forbes 30 Under 30, and we’re just getting started.

We’re a team of owners who aren’t afraid to dive into complex, high-impact problems. If you’re excited to learn from and work closely with company leadership to build operational excellence from the inside out, we’d love to meet you.

2026 Summer BizOps Internship

We’re looking for 1-2 BizOps MBA interns to join us for a 10-week summer internship. In this role, you’ll operate like an internal consultant, owning and driving multiple high-priority operational projects across the company.

You’ll work in fast-paced sprints on a series of short, high-impact initiatives (typically 1–2 weeks each), partnering closely with leaders across sales, marketing, revenue operations, customer experience, and more. Your work will focus on uncovering inefficiencies, identifying bottlenecks, and helping design and scale the systems and processes that support Playground’s growth.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership: from analysis and insight generation to implementation and execution.

You Might Work On
  • Mapping and improving the Sales → Onboarding → CS handoff process

  • Supporting GTM experiments like referral programs, ABM pilots, or pricing discovery

  • Helping team leads scope, track, and report on weekly metrics across departments

  • Jumping into Salesforce or Hubspot to clean up workflows or build a quick dashboard

  • Running recruiting ops: managing hiring workflows, coordinating communication, and actively sourcing candidates

  • Reorganizing the office layout to support team growth and collaboration

  • Managing our location tracking system to keep internal records up to date

  • Supporting CX with internal tooling improvements or better escalation workflows

  • Rolling up your sleeves to document, fix, or improve any process that’s slowing us down

Who You Are
  • You’re a structured thinker and problem solver — you can take a messy question and drive it to clarity

  • You’re analytical and comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and dashboards

  • You’ve got great business judgment and can quickly understand new domains

  • You’re scrappy, proactive, and unafraid to get into the weeds

  • You have 2+ years of experience in investing, consulting, strategy, business operations, or a similar generalist role

  • You are currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program, graduating in May 2027

  • You’re excited to be in person 5 days a week with our NYC - Union Square team

  • Bonus: You’ve worked at a fast-growing startup and/or have early stage SaaS experience

Why Intern with Playground

Real work, real impact — no intern busywork. Direct access to Playground’s founders and leadership and real experience scaling a high-growth vertical SaaS start-up. Daily mentorship, weekly coaching and feedback, and room to take big swings. Potential path to full-time, depending on internship performance and company growth needs.

Details
  1. Timing: 10 weeks (June 15 - August 21)

  2. Location: NYC - Union Square (5 days/week in person)

  3. Compensation: $10,000 / month stipend

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
