What we're looking for
doola is seeking a client-focused professional to join our team as a Client Success Bookkeeper. This person will be responsible for onboarding new customers onto doola’s platform and dedicated bookkeeping services. Through video calls, you’ll onboard all new premium clients, track onboarding satisfaction rates and retention rates, and provide support to existing clients should they have any concerns about our services. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong bookkeeping technical expertise, and enjoy working closely with clients to solve problems, this role is for you.
What you will do
- Onboarding clients onto our bookkeeping product (~60% of the role)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new clients during their onboarding process, delivering clarity and confidence in our services.
- Provide live video training for clients on how to use the doola customer dashboard and other platform capabilities
- Track and report onboarding satisfaction and retention metrics
- Communicate with clients about their financial data, explaining reports and addressing any concerns or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide basic tax guidance and serve as a bridge between CPAs and clients.
- Collaborate and collect data from internal teams, including sales, product, and support, to understand client pain points.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to optimize onboarding and bookkeeping workflows.
- Closing the books for our clients (~40% of the role)
- Accurately record financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and maintain updated records
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring precision and timeliness.
Who you are
- You have 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, with significant client-facing responsibilities
- You excel at communicating with clients via video calls and can confidently manage their expectations with ease.
- Nice to have: you have experience as an account executive or account manager handling business accounts
- You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain complex queries to clients through video conferencing
- You are proficient in U.S.-based accounting practices and tools like QuickBooks and Excel.
- You have exceptional attention to detail, consistently delivering accurate and error-free work.
- You are familiar with basic tax regulations and can provide foundational advice to clients.
- You excel in time management, balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- You thrive in a startup environment, embracing adaptability and problem-solving with confidence.
- You have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certifications such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks Certification are a plus.
