Our client is a U.S.-based financial services organization seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and record management. This role requires strong QuickBooks expertise, a solid understanding of U.S. accounting practices, and the ability to work U.S. business hours while supporting a fast-paced, growing organization.

Position Summary

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing reconciliations, supporting reporting activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate has experience supporting U.S.-based businesses, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping & Reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
  • Maintain general ledger entries and categorize expenses accurately
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Track invoices, receipts, business expenses, and financial transactions
  • Process payments and reimbursements while maintaining proper documentation
Accounting & Compliance
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP standards
  • Prepare and record journal entries
  • Reconcile vendor invoices, bank statements, and loan payments
  • Assist with tax preparation support, including 1099 contractor documentation
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Assist leadership with profit and loss statements, cash flow reporting, and financial analysis
  • Support audit preparation and documentation requests
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency


Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 5–6+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial record management experience
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks
  • Experience performing bank reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP
  • Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST (6:30 PM – 3:30 AM IST) on a consistent basis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based clients, companies, or accounting teams
  • Currently employed in a full-time accounting or bookkeeping position
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or equivalent accounting certification
  • Experience within financial services, mortgage lending, banking, or related industries
