Job Description

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Length: 6 months

Flat Rate: $4.680/ weekly

Location: Geo-specific- must reside in  LA

About the Role

The client is growing out their wireless business and is looking for a Creative Director with brand management experience to help lead that shift of rebranding.

This is a maker's role first. We're looking for someone who has personally originated standout creative, concepts, copy, and campaign ideas for brands that had to win on idea quality rather than budget, not someone who has only briefed, managed, or approved that kind of work. This person will sit on the creative pod and work closely with the client's creative agencies to get top-tier work out the door, and will oversee both performance-driven campaigns (DR, bottom of funnel) and brand creation campaigns (mid funnel, demand generating), with a stronger lean toward brand and demand creation, since that's where this business is investing right now.

This role starts roughly 90% focused on the core wireless product, with the potential to support the client's AI subscription plans down the line.

What You'll Do

  • Originate and shape sharp, culturally relevant creative concepts and copy, not just brief them out to others
  • Take a product brief and turn it into a strong creative brief the agency can run with, and be hands-on enough to shape the idea itself when needed
  • Guide and shape creative work, including giving feedback on design and jumping in to write or punch up a line of copy to get something over the line
  • Manage agency relationships and hold the bar for top tier creative
  • Bring brand management discipline to the role: keep the brand consistent, understand its voice deeply, and work effectively with vendors and partners
  • Balance performance marketing priorities with the need to build brand awareness for a challenger product going up against major national carriers

Qualifications

  • What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience, with real Creative Director or hands-on creative authorship credentials, not just brand or campaign management
  • A portfolio of specific, personally originated work for scrappy and/or iconic brands, work that had to earn attention through idea quality, not big budgets- Must have this when you apply
  • Brand management experience as a complement to creative craft: comfortable keeping a brand system consistent and working with agencies and vendors, but this should sit alongside creative authorship, not replace it
  • Comfortable being hands-on when needed. Think creative-first operator who lives and breathes brand and craft
  • Experience  working with brands that punched above their media weight is a strong plus
  • Has worked both agency side and client side; agency-side depth is now valued highly, client-side experience is still a plus but no longer a hard requirement
  • Creative taste can lean more design or more copy, but this person should be able to personally produce or meaningfully shape work on at least one side, not just direct others
  • Genuine enthusiasm for great creative work, the kind of person who's geeking out over the latest standout campaign
  • Mobile experience is a nice to have, not a requirement
  • Subscription or tech background is a bonus
  • Interest in AI is a plus. Deep AI background is not required or expected

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
