About Endurance

Endurance is pioneering a new category of energy by building the world's first modular seafloor geothermal power plants. Backed by First Round Capital, and Point72 Ventures, with a founding team from SpaceX, Helion, and Robinhood, we have completed multiple deep ocean test deployments and are launching our generation pilot this year. We are creating a new category of energy, and we need a team that can build it and explain it to the world.

What You'll Be Doing

This role is part designer, part copywriter, and fully responsible for how Endurance looks, sounds, and feels to the outside world. You will partner directly with the Founder/CEO to translate a deeply technical vision into a brand that resonates with everyone from prime ministers to the general public. Your days will be dynamic. You might direct a photoshoot of a subsea deployment one day and write investor copy or rework the website the next day.

Responsibilities
  • Own Endurance's visual identity: art direction, design systems, photography, social media presence, and all brand aesthetics

  • Write and edit all key external copy: website, campaigns, social, investor materials, speeches, and press messaging

  • Build the visual and verbal language for a new category of energy

  • Lead creative production from concept through execution across digital, print, and video

  • Build and manage relationships with designers, photographers, videographers, and agencies

  • Ensure a consistent brand voice and visual standard

  • Navigate a complex political environment and position Endurance's brand as a bipartisan choice

Required Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in a creative role (copywriting or design), ideally working closely with a founder or CEO

  • A strong visual portfolio that demonstrates your design taste and art direction ability.

  • Exceptional writing ability; a portfolio of published copy, campaigns, or creative writing

  • Experience building or scaling a brand identity

  • Comfort working across mediums: digital design, photography direction, video, social content, and long-form writing

  • A personal creative sensibility that's evident in how you present yourself and your work

Preferred Backgrounds
  • Journalism, editorial, or content backgrounds paired with strong visual instincts

  • Backgrounds in architecture, industrial design, or other fields with a strong aesthetic foundation

  • Creative or brand leadership at a high-growth startup

  • Design and copywriting hybrid roles

  • Creative directors and producers

Compensation
  • $125,000 to $250,000 based on experience and qualifications

  • Early-team stock options

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
