Position: Business Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to provide business analysis services for complex business and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to identify business needs, document requirements, support solution design, and contribute to digital transformation initiatives.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder engagement skills, and experience with business analysis methodologies, business process improvement, and enterprise technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Lead and conduct business analysis activities to assess business problems, opportunities, and requirements.
  
• Gather, document, analyze, validate, and manage business and technical requirements.
  
• Develop context diagrams, use cases, use case models, process maps, stakeholder maps, and system diagrams.
  
• Conduct gap analyses between current-state and future-state processes.
  
• Develop functional and non-functional requirements documentation.
  
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, and stakeholder consultations.
  
• Perform business process reengineering and business modeling activities.
  
• Create business rules, user stories, and user interface design specifications.
  

Strategic Analysis & Planning

• Develop strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies.
  
• Conduct options analyses and recommend suitable business and technology solutions.
  
• Support digital transformation initiatives focused on customer engagement and service excellence.
  
• Ensure alignment of business requirements with organizational standards, methodologies, and architectural principles.
  

Stakeholder & Project Support

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, SMEs, project teams, and management.
  
• Provide technical leadership and business analysis expertise to project teams.
  
• Support request-for-proposal activities, including requirements definition and evaluation support.
  
• Monitor project progress, identify issues, and help facilitate timely resolutions.
  

Performance Measurement & Governance

• Develop performance measures and traceability matrices.
  
• Conduct follow-up assessments to evaluate business analysis outcomes.
  
• Support compliance with organizational policies, standards, and governance requirements.
  
• Contribute to production support and configuration management activities as required.
  

Required Qualifications

Business Analysis Experience

• Experience leading and conducting business analysis for medium-sized business and technology projects.
  
• Experience documenting technical business requirements and translating business needs into solution requirements.
  
• Experience developing context diagrams, use cases, process maps, stakeholder maps, and systems diagrams.
  
• Experience writing business cases and conducting options analyses.
  
• Experience conducting requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement activities.
  
• Experience developing cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies.
  
• Experience creating user stories and supporting solution design activities.
  
• Experience conducting business process modeling and business process reengineering.
  

Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  
• Knowledge of software design, development, integration, and database concepts.
  
• Knowledge of user interface design principles.
  
• Understanding of quality assurance, risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery concepts.
  
• Experience utilizing CASE tools and other business analysis tools.
  
• Awareness of emerging information technology trends and technologies.
  

Microsoft Platforms

• Experience implementing best practices for:

• Experience leveraging:
  
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Service
  
• Microsoft Power Platform
  
• Experience improving service delivery, agent productivity, and customer experience through technology solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  
• Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  
• Ability to prepare reports, assessments, presentations, briefing materials, and business documentation.
  
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in team environments and meet deadlines.
  

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of Information Management principles, practices, and standards.
  
• Ability to translate business and data requirements into technology specifications.
  
• Experience with structured, object-oriented, and Agile methodologies.
  
• Experience developing performance measures and evaluation frameworks.
  
• Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related accessibility standards.
  

Work Environment

• Onsite requirement: 5 days per week.
  
• Collaborative environment involving business stakeholders, project teams, and technology professionals.
