Proof of work

We're hiring a Business Development Associate to sit at the center of three critical workstreams: growing Kraken 360 (our suite of products and services built for token and digital asset teams), building and managing a third-party partnerships network, and running day-to-day business operations across our client relationships.

This is a mid-level role for someone who's equal parts dealmaker, relationship manager, and operator — someone who can move fast, manage multiple threads at once, and keep the trains running while still thinking strategically about where we're headed.

The team

Our Onchain team is focused on accelerating the global adoption of crypto by building products and partnerships that serve the next generation of digital asset projects.

The opportunity

Kraken 360 Business Development
  • Drive pipeline and revenue growth for Kraken 360, our collection of product offerings purpose-built for token and digital asset teams

  • Own the full sales cycle — from sourcing and qualification to close — across projects, foundations, and token teams

  • Scout the crypto landscape to identify high-potential projects and position Kraken 360 as their go-to partner

Partnerships Network
  • Build and manage a network of third-party partners (VCs, accelerators, market makers, service providers, and more) across a spectrum of services relevant to our clients

  • Structure referral and deal-flow agreements, and manage the ongoing relationship — inbound routing, partner engagement, and performance

  • Continuously identify gaps in the partner ecosystem and source new relationships to fill them

Business Operations
  • Run point on client communications, internal coordination, and cross-functional follow-through to make sure nothing falls through the cracks

  • Keep pipeline and CRM hygiene tight — prioritize high-impact opportunities, track progress, and maintain accountability

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product, compliance, and engineering to ensure our go-to-market efforts are aligned and client-facing communications are always a priority

Skills you should HODL
  • 3–5 years in a business development, partnerships, or sales role, with at least 1–2 years in crypto or digital assets

  • You've managed real pipelines and closed real deals — not just supported them

  • You're deeply embedded in the crypto ecosystem. You understand the landscape beyond blue-chip tokens: emerging projects, L1/L2 dynamics, accelerators, token launches, market makers, and the people behind them

  • Strong operator instincts. You're organized, responsive, and can juggle multiple workstreams without losing the thread

  • A commercial mindset — you think in terms of outcomes, revenue, and leverage

  • Excellent communicator. You can work a room at a conference and write a sharp follow-up email the next morning

  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal oversight. You don't wait to be told what to do

  • Experience with asset listings or exchange-side BD is a plus, not a requirement

  • A strong personal network in crypto (projects, VCs, accelerators, market makers) is a real differentiator

  • You're aligned with Kraken's values and culture — builder-minded, principled, and motivated by the mission

  • Willingness to travel to industry events and conferences to generate leads and strengthen Kraken's presence

Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.

We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives. We hire strictly based on merit, meaning we seek out the candidates with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills considered the most suitable for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgable about crypto!

We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments are designed to evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Assessment results are considered alongside other relevant information, such as experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision.

As an equal opportunity employer, we don’t tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
