About the Position

Dexis is hiring an experienced Department of War (DoW) Business Development Director to drive growth within a targeted client base. This individual will identify and qualify new business opportunities, lead capture efforts and live proposals, cultivate customer and industry relationships, and develop strategies that strengthen Dexis’ position within the defense market.

Responsibilities
  • Lead business development and capture efforts within a targeted DoW client base, from opportunity identification and qualification through proposal submission and award.
  • Develop and execute capture strategies, including competitive positioning, win themes, teaming, technical approaches, pricing considerations, and other activities necessary to position Dexis for success.
  • Build and maintain strong customer, partner, and industry relationships to expand Dexis’ network, market knowledge, and business opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional pursuit and proposal teams, working across technical, recruiting, pricing, contracts, and proposal functions to develop competitive and compliant submissions.
  • Manage and grow a qualified opportunity pipeline, assess market and customer trends, and contribute to long-term growth strategy within the targeted client base.
  • Represent Dexis within the defense community, building brand recognition and contributing relevant market and business development expertise internally and externally.
Qualifications 
  • At least 15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least five years of experience supporting senior-level DoW organizations, defense policy organizations, the Joint Staff, or a comparable targeted client base.
  • At least five years of DoW-focused business development and/or capture experience, with a demonstrated record of successful account management and business growth.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), DoW procurement processes, and federal solicitation methods.
  • Established ability to build relationships with senior DoW stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the technical and strategic elements of competitive federal proposals.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams spanning technical, pricing, contracts, recruiting, and proposal functions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and drive pursuits forward with limited supervision.
  • Current DoD security clearance at a minimum of a TOP SECRET (TS) level.
