BAE Systems' Intelligence & Security Sector (I&S) Intelligence Solutions (IS) Business Area is seeking a Business Development (BD) Director to lead our growth efforts at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Reporting directly to the (IS) Vice President, Business Development, and working in support of the Vice President of Programs for this business area, this position will be responsible for understanding customer missions, needs, strategic objectives, addressable market, and organizational dynamics to identify, prioritize and develop new business opportunities. The BD Director will serve as the liaison between the Government and BAE Systems providing insight on customer mission gaps and objectives to BAE Systems engineers and leadership. Technology and solution focus areas include cloud solutions, cyber security, analytics, software development, and operations.
This individual is accountable for opportunity identification and qualification metrics; annual submit and awards goals; and orchestrating meaningful customer meetings that increase BAE's brand with the customer. In addition, this individual will lead the development of the customer account growth plan that dictates the actions and investments that will be made to generate growth. The successful candidate must be able to effectively collaborate with line resources, functional leads, and external partners to deliver BAE capabilities to the customer. This position is located in Sterling, VA with the option to work virtually once a week depending on pace of operations. Regular travel to customer and company locations is required.

Full-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Identify, develop, and manage a robust pipeline of business opportunities with a focus on high-growth areas, including:

+ Data analysis and analytics
+ Software development
+ Operations - Develop and execute targeted customer contact plans to build relationships, understand customer needs, and identify potential opportunities
- Gather and analyze marketing intelligence and competitive data to inform growth strategies and stay ahead of the competition
- Participate in bid decision discussions and contribute to the development of cost strategies that align with customer needs and company goals
- Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with customers and competitors to stay informed about market trends and opportunities
- Support the creation and execution of multi-year business development strategies that drive growth and revenue
- Participate in IRAD (Internal Research and Development) and New Business Funds budget exercises to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in technical or business-related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a focus on cloud, cyber, analysis, SW development, and operations for the Intelligence Community
- Track record of success in leading and winning contracts >$50M
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, competitors, and internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to gather and analyze market intelligence and competitive data
- Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans that drive growth and revenue
- Experience developing overall win strategies; shaping deals with customers; developing teaming strategies, identifying and closing with teammates
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and technical teams
- Familiarity with industry trends, technologies, and challenges, particularly in the areas of cloud, cyber, analysis, SW development, and operations
- Excellent writing communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
- Attention to detail and relentless follow-through on actions
