Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, results-oriented Business Development Manager to strengthen relationships and drive sales growth across current, and adjacent markets in our North American Flow Wrap Business.  This position requires a proactive approach and aggressive prospecting. You will report to the Director of Sales and work collaboratively with our North America sales and marketing teams.  This position will play a critical role in developing and executing the vision and strategies required to establish Hayssen’s brand presence in the North American flow wrap market.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Sales and Product Line leadership, develop a list of prospects and customers within target markets and sub-markets.

  • In collaboration with the marketing team, develop demand generation campaigns to elevate Hayssen’s brand presence in North America for flow wrappers.

  • Leverage network connections to create strategic partnerships with key customers and market leaders.

  • Leverage our leading position and sizeable customer base of VFFS installations to win flow wrap business from existing BW customers.

  • Evaluate indirect sales channels.

  • Drive the sales process from initial outreach to contract acceptance emphasizing our unique value proposition

  • Clear Sales Targets & Performance Goals: Operate with well-defined sales objectives, ensuring accountability and measurable success in revenue generation.

  • Develop technical and applications expertise of the Hayssen flow wrapper portfolio, including relevant upstream and downstream equipment to deliver differentiated value to customers.

  • Understand the competitive landscape and share key insights with business leaders to create a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

  • Participate in relevant trade associations, shows and industry groups to generate interest in BWFS packaging solutions and identify new selling opportunities.

  • Communicate the BW Packaging Platform’s broad capabilities by preparing and conducting sales presentations.

  • Utilize BW’s CRM database to capture critical customer information and sales activities.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience and commercial success in flow wrap packaging with a proven track record of growing sales and building customer relationships in the bakery and confectionary food markets

  • Experience building and driving effective pipeline-generation strategies

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities / Competencies:

  • Consistent record of exceeding targets

  • High level contract development and negotiation skills

  • Ability to excel in a competitive team environment

  • Intuition and capacity to learn quickly

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to present information in a concise, compelling and positive manner

  • Ability to assess performance both qualitatively and analytically

  • Basic understanding of pricing and manufacturing costs is expected

  • Strong business acumen to identify business risks and opportunities and recommend solutions that drive the desired outcome

  • Skilled at developing and maintaining highly effective cross functional relationships at all levels with a collaborative work style and a bias for action

  • Excellent time management - demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple projects and tasks often with changing requirements; ability to make decisions and solve problems independently

  • Proficient in use of CRM systems, leveraging data/insights to identify opportunities and aid in decision-making

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Minimum 50% travel expectation

  • Must have a valid US driver’s license and good driving record and ability to obtain a passport

The approximate pay range for this position is $110K - $140K Base Salary + competitive bonus structure which may vary based on performance. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
