Hazport is a specialist hazardous waste transport and disposal business providing compliant, reliable and cost-effective solutions to customers across a range of sectors. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive profitable growth by winning new customers and developing commercial opportunities in hazardous waste and dangerous goods transport.

 

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities across key target sectors. This role is suited to a commercially driven salesperson who can manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and site visits through to proposal, negotiation and close.

 

The ideal candidate is energetic, credible and results-focused, with the ability to open doors and convert opportunities into long-term customers. They should be comfortable operating in a regulated service environment where compliance, responsiveness and customer trust are critical.

Your role will involve:

    • Generate new business opportunities across target markets including industrial, manufacturing, automotive, laboratory and related sectors
    • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, referrals and market research
    • Manage the full sales process from first contact to contract close
    • Meet prospective customers on site to understand their waste streams, service requirements and compliance needs
    • Prepare tailored proposals and pricing in line with customer requirements and operational capability.
    • Work closely with internal operations, transport teams and supply chain to ensure solutions are practical, compliant and commercially sound
    • Maintain accurate records of pipeline, activity and forecasts within the CRM
    • Represent Hazport professionally in the market and help strengthen the company’s reputation as a trusted hazardous waste partner

Candidate profile:

    • Proven experience in business development, sales or account growth within a B2B environment
    • Strong track record of generating and closing new business opportunities
    • Experience in waste management, hazardous waste, environmental services, logistics or another relevant technical service sector is preferred
    • Strong commercial awareness and confidence in negotiating proposals and contracts
    • Able to build relationships with decision-makers at different levels
    • Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based role
    • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
